NDPG APPLICATIONS: ROUND 4 (29 FEBRUARY 2008 TO TUESDAY, 10 JUNE 2008 at 12h00)
You are advised that National Treasury will be accepting bids for the conditional Neighbourhood Development Partnership Grant (NDPG) between 29 February and 10 June 2008. This Technical Assistance and Capital Grant is intended to drive future-orientated development of underserved residential neighbourhoods (i.e. especially townships).
One of the key objectives of the NDPG programme is to stimulate and accelerate expenditure in public community infrastructure, places and facilities for projects in the NDPG Portfolio that can leverage private sector investment. These actions aim to attract private, public and community sector investment, within the context of an overarching regeneration strategy for the townships. Examples of such projects include, but are not necessarily limited to, the development of:
- Nodal and/or precinct projects
- Linkage projects (internal and/or external)
- General environmental improvement projects
To date, the Neighbourhood Development Partnership (NDP) Unit has received over 500 applications. The National Treasury has accepted 55 projects from Rounds 1 and 2 into its NDPG Portfolio, with another 19 projects from Round 3 soon to be confirmed.
